Wolfforth Farmers Market
The Wolfforth Farmers Market (WFM) is an outdoor community farmers market that was established in 2014 in the northern part of Lubbock County, Texas. It was started by a group of passionate volunteers with the mission to support local and organic food producers and the local community.The Wolfforth Farmers Market is a monthly event held on the second Thursday of every month from 11 to 1 pm at Wolfforth City Park. Vendors sell locally grown vegetables, fruits, plants, and animals and artisans sell handmade craft items and art. The Wolfforth Farmer’s Market is located in Wolfforth, on the corner of 10th and Center street at the entrance to the Wolfforth City Park. The address is 2710 10th Street in Wolfforth, Texas.
Wolfforth Farmer’s Market has been part of the Farming Community since the early 1950s, when the first farmer’s market in Wolfforth was held in Lacy Park, now a playground for the Wolfforth City Park on the corner of Avenue A and State Highway 114. After several years of growth, the Wolfforth Farmer’s Market was moved to a new location in the late 1970s. The farmers market was located in the parking lot of the Wolfforth Coliseum on Avenue F and Main Street.
The Wolfforth Farmers Market is celebrating 10 years in the community. The unique four-day event, which takes place at the Wolfforth Civic Center, features fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers from local farmers, artisans and vendors. Wolfforth was one of the first communities in Tarrant County to have an open-air farmers market.
Vendors that have been at the market for several years have been notified that their lease will not be renewed for 2017.
