In 2000, the Mesa Verde RV Park was purchased by the city of Wolfforth. The city still owns the park and continues to offer overnight camping and some utility hookups for RVs.

The park is a privately owned, family owned and operated business that is located just off Interstate 27 near the intersection of 10th Street and Interstate 27. The Mesa Verde RV Park offers full hook-up sites, pull-through sites, and primitive tent sites. The park is open year round.

Mesa Verde RV Park is pet-friendly and has spacious, fenced dog runs and a long leash exercise area. The park’s dog runs and the leash walking area are spacious and fenced. The dog areas have gravel and grass, trees for shade and benches for sitting and watching the dog play. For dog owners who enjoy walking, the leash walking area has a gravel surface and is near the dog runs. Mesa Verde also has special dog-friendly guest rooms.

The park has an adequate number of restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. There is a set of showers just outside the women’s restroom and the men’s restroom and another set of showers in the laundry room. The showers have curtains and plenty of hot water. The laundry room has 4 washers and 4 dryers, all of which were in good working order.

I found an RV park in the middle of nowhere. Literally. It’s in Wolfforth, a small town about 30 minutes northeast of Lubbock. You’d have to have Google Earth to find it. Yet, looking at it from another angle, Mesa Verde RV Park looks a lot like a mini-Boondockers Welcome Center . The amenities are pretty spartan, yet I’ve stayed there for three months and never felt crowded or claustrophobic. It’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s protected. The Mesa Verde RV Park is literally surrounded by an RV community. The park’s residents are friendly and welcoming, and the park is well protected by gates and cameras.
